Crash protection buffers: avoid damage while loading

Loading is usually done in a hurry, which means vehicles and buildings are easily damaged in the approach to the ramp. This costs money as well as time.

Blumenbecker’s simple but highly effective crash protection systems prevent this type of damage, preserve the value of your assets and reduce costs on a long-term basis.

We know that customers’ needs – and budgets – vary greatly, so we offer many different kinds of crash protection systems. There’s sure to be one that’s right for you.
Blumenbecker buffer systems meet all the relevant German and European guidelines and standards.

Blumenbecker ram-buffers are tried and tested in practice in many times cases.
Many companies are now benefitting from the advantages of our ram-buffer system and protecting their buildings from crash damage.

You, too, can avoid expensive repairs by using a Blumenbecker solution.

XL ram-buffer system: Ram protection with a system

Full-rubber buffers may not cost much, but they do have some disadvantages: they wear out quickly and their damping properties are not always very good, so that the impact load of docking goods vehicles is transferred into the building. Our patent XL ram-buffer system puts an end to all that.

Benefits:

  • Low substructure load because the buffer takes up to 180 kN of force
  • Extremely long lasting
  • Ideally suited to assembling above ramp level
  • Protects docking vehicles through regular increases in counterload upon approach
  • 24-month guarantee
  • Almost no load on buffer fastening points

Even at low ramp heights, our patented, highly wear-resistant XL ram-buffer system gives your buildings optimal protection from damage, for example the type of damage caused when a vehicle crashes into them at an angle. Their robust construction means that these ram-buffers last the lifetime of a normal freight forward building.

Specially developed rubber cores are surrounded and protected by two steel-edge profiles. When it docks, the vehicle touches the steel casing and much of the force of the impact is absorbed by the buffers. The surface of the buffer directs the rest of the load through the core and into the concrete ramp. Since a steel plate protects the top of the buffer, there is no problem with putting containers on it.

The XL system comprises a base profile made of steel and a buffer cover. The base profile is fixed to the building and the buffer cover slid over it. The height of the buffer cover is adjustable and moves with a goods vehicle as it is loaded and unloaded.

Dock levellers – bridging the gap to speedy loading and unloading

You can rely on Blumenbecker dock levellers everywhere you have to bridge a gap, horizontally or vertically, flexibly, reliably and safely. It might be a stationary telescopic lip leveller or a nifty combination of a dock leveller and a lifting table - but whatever it is, if we have devised it for you, it will be the right combination.

Blumenbecker dock levellers meet all the relevant German and European guidelines. These are BGR 233, CE and DIN EN 1398. We supply

  • Telescopic lip levellers
  • Hinged lip levellers
  • Swivel-arm platforms
  • Lifting tables
  • Custom designs
  • ISO loading houses

Door seals: close tight, hold tight

On a busy day, with deliveries coming thick and fast, our tarpaulin door seals with parallel guide systems are just what it takes. The 3.5 mm thick transverse and side skirts are made of heavy duty double weave fabric with a PVC coating and withstand extreme strain.

Our standard cushion dock seals have a foam core. Variants with shock absorbent special foam filling and a cushion depth of 350 mm under a weather-tight PVC-coated fabric offer even more advantages. The flexible construction means that even vehicle parts that stick out do not present a problem. Yellow vision strips on the sides aid in positioning the vehicle if there is poor visibility.

When ramps are in the open, the effects of the weather are often felt between the building and the vehicle. Our scissor-arm door seals can be moved out as far as the vehicle either manually or electrically.

Heat, cold, draughts, and dust – they don’t stand a change against our inflatable door seals. The cushions self-inflate after the goods vehicle has docked, making the loading opening completely airtight. They fit exactly no matter what size the vehicle is. When not in use, the cushions are deflated and so do not block the driver’s view of the loading area.

Our services

Consulting

Blumenbecker offers a wide range of services for its loading technology. Our most important service, though, is probably pre-sales consulting. We work with you to analyse individual requirements and develop the solutions that consider not just your technical needs but your budget as well. Our goal is always to supply the best-possible solution for you.

Planning

Our specialists take over the planning of your loading facilities in close consultation with you. This gives you the guarantee during the planning phase that your ideas will be implemented as you desire.

Modernisation

Sometimes modernisation of existing loading systems is the most economical solution. We advise you accordingly and carry out all modernisation work.

Testing

We examine and test your loading technology in the intervals prescribed by DGUV R 108-006 and other regulations. This includes preparing the necessary documentation for you.

Maintenance

We provide tailor-made, manufacturer-independent maintenance and immediately make any repairs that may be necessary.

Repairs

Our vendor-neutral service will not let you down even after general business hours. You can reach us around the clock via a service number. As a rule, we keep the most important spare parts in stock. Thanks to our numerous service bases, one of our technicians is always close to you and guarantees the smooth functioning of your loading technology.

We repair your loading equipment professionally, both those supplied by us and those of other manufacturers. Our teams only use trained machine fitters and electricians who are all ISO-certified. All skilled fitters have a long professional experience and can repair your systems both mechanically and electrically.

Installation / Dismantling

Our trained installers will professionally install and dismantle your loading technology following a modernisation or a similar project.
