20 years Blumenbecker in Slovakia The specialist for robot laser welding technology has been on the market for two decades
On March 1, 2001, Blumenbecker Slovakia s.r.o. was founded as a subsidiary of Blumenbecker Prag s.r.o. in Malacky, 35 km north of Bratislava. It all starts with five employees in three rooms - a secretary´s office, an office and a meeting room. In 2005, the current managing director Peter Grňo joins the team, which has 6 members now. Two years later, the company moved to the capital, where its headquarters are still located today.
Meanwhile, 31 employees work there at two locations. Customers come from both the domestic and international industry, with a focus on the automotive and metalworking sectors. The company covers the entire spectrum of automation technology for new plants as well as for upgrading or retrofitting existing plants and machines. "In the engineering area, we can supply finished plants made to measure. In the service department, we offer all-round service for robots, and in our trading department, spare parts. So we supply everything a production needs from a single source," says Grňo.
He and his team have successfully implemented many projects over the past twenty years. Among them is the development of a robotic welding system for pressure vessels of water heaters for the customer Tatramat in 2019. Or the delivery of laser welding robots for the automotive supplier Martinrea. In 2014, the company was looking for a solution for welding extremely thin stainless steel tubes for fuel lines.
At the time, Blumenbecker Slovakia carried out a series of tests in the company's own welding laboratory in Bratislava to adapt the technology to the harsh day-to-day production environment. "We have remained down-to-earth and are good at assessing and managing risks," explains Grňo, adding proudly, "We are following our course and have become a reliable and strong partner for companies in the industry."
