Blumenbecker acquires Redwanz in Oberhausen Consolidation in the Industrial Trade sector

With effect from November 1, 2016, Blumenbecker Industriebedarf GmbH in Beckum will take over the business operations of Oberhausen-based Redwanz GmbH & Co KG, a trading company specializing in commercial and industrial equipment that was founded more than half a century ago. 

“I have known Blumenbecker for a long time as a professionally run family-owned company. I am 100 percent confident that our business and its employees will find themselves in good hands with Blumenbecker,” says Frank Gemsa, Managing Partner of Redwanz GmbH & Co KG. “Redwanz will benefit from the modern systems in place at Blumenbecker, especially in the field of electronic order processing. As for myself, I am going to continue to head up business activities as branch manager for Blumenbecker and look forward to cooperating in this new configuration.”

Last year, Redwanz GmbH & Co KG and its staff of 18 achieved turnover of more than EUR 4 million. In the course of the acquisition, all employment contracts will be taken over by Blumenbecker.

According to Olaf Lingnau, Managing Director of Blumenbecker Industriebedarf GmbH, Redwanz’s business activities are a perfect fit for Blumenbecker: “The new sales territory enables us to round off our own territory and access the Ruhr district from both east and west. Our product range is nearly identical. By persuading Mr Gemsa to stay on we are also able to ensure continuity in customer relations.”
