Its product range includes, in particular, battery trays, battery cabinets, racks, and charging stations for traction batteries.
The commission:
For its new manufacturing facility in Most, AIB Kunstmann needed a comprehensive crane solution that would cover every stage of production – from handling largeformat steel sheets and loading machines to the complex process of powder coating.
The challenge:
A special crane had to be developed that uses a special gripping tong to pick up heavy loads – which are preheated to over 300 °C in a continuous furnace – and precisely immerse them into a coating tank, then remove excess powder from the workpieces through controlled movements.
The performance:
Working closely with the customer, our engineers developed nine coordinated crane systems that manage the entire material flow: from goods receiving to shipping, unloading trucks, storing and retrieving sheet metal, loading production machines, and transporting workpieces.
The plasma cutting machine must be loaded with sheets measuring six by two meters and only three millimeters thick. To accomplish this, Blumenbecker developed a double-girder bridge crane equipped with a magnetic traverse and a slewing mechanism; its Sway Control system prevents the thin sheets from swaying, allowing them to be positioned with pinpoint accuracy on the cutting table.
The coating crane is the centerpiece of the system: using a specially designed gripping clamp, it can handle up to eight battery trays at once. The crane and clamp can be controlled separately via radio—the control cabinets have been mounted on the crane bridge and the gripping clamp to save space.

with the client to ensure that every detail was executed precisely.
