Frequently asked questions about aerial work platform inspections
How often must an aerial work platform be inspected?
According to DGUV Principle 308-002, aerial work platforms must be inspected by a qualified person at least once a year. In addition, a visual and functional inspection by the operator is required before each use. Shorter inspection intervals may be necessary in the case of intensive use or special operating conditions.
How much does DGUV inspection of an aerial work platform cost?
The costs depend on various factors: platform type, working height, location, and number of devices to be inspected. We would be happy to provide you with a customized quote. Contact us for a non-binding inquiry.
Who is authorized to inspect aerial work platforms?
The DGUV inspection may only be carried out by qualified individuals. In accordance with TRBS 1203, these individuals must have the appropriate vocational training, professional experience, and recent professional activity. All Blumenbecker service technicians meet these requirements.
What is checked during the annual inspection?
The inspection includes, among other things: visual inspection for damage and wear, functional testing of all controls and safety devices, testing of the brakes with test load, checking the hydraulic system and electrical components, and ensuring that the documentation is complete.
What happens if defects are found?
Any defects found are documented in the test report. Depending on their significance in terms of safety, these must be rectified before further use or within a reasonable period of time. Our technicians can rectify many defects directly on site.
Does Blumenbecker also carry out expert inspections?
Yes, in addition to recurring inspections, we also carry out expert inspections. This is necessary, for example, after significant changes to the aerial work platform or after major repairs.
