Our product range for loading technology
Collision protection – no damage while charging
Since loading usually needs to be done quickly, damage to vehicles and buildings can easily occur when backing up to the loading dock. And that costs not only time, but also money.
With Blumenbecker’s simple and highly effective collision protection systems, you can prevent such damage, preserve the value of your facilities, and reduce your costs in the long term.
Because we know that our customers’ needs and budgets vary widely, we offer a broad range of collision protection systems. You’re sure to find the right system for you! Blumenbecker buffer systems naturally comply with all relevant German and European guidelines and standards.
Blumenbecker impact buffers have proven themselves time and again in real-world applications. Numerous companies are now benefiting from the advantages of our impact buffer system, using it to protect their buildings from collision damage.
Save yourself expensive repairs with solutions from Blumenbecker!
XL impact buffer system – systematic impact protection
Solid rubber buffers are inexpensive, but they also have some drawbacks: They wear out quickly, and their shock-absorbing properties are not particularly high. As a result, the impact force from docking trucks is transmitted unimpeded into the building. Our patented XL Impact Buffer System protects you from this.
Advantages:
- Low load on the substructure due to the buffer’s high force absorption capacity of up to 180 kN
- Extremely long service life
- Very well suited for installation above ramp level
- Protects docking vehicles through a regularly applied counterforce during approach
- 24-month warranty
- Minimal stress on the buffer’s mounting points
Even with low ramp heights, your buildings are optimally protected against damage—such as that caused by vehicles approaching at an angle—thanks to our patented and virtually wear-free XL impact buffer system. Thanks to their robust construction, these impact buffers have a service life comparable to that of a standard freight terminal building.
Specially developed rubber cores are enclosed and protected by two steel angle profiles. When docking, the vehicle strikes the steel casing. This allows the buffer to absorb a large portion of the impact force. The remaining forces are dissipated by the core across the entire surface of the buffer into the concrete ramp. Since the buffer is protected at the top by a steel plate, containers can also be placed on top without any problems.
The XL system consists of a steel base profile and a buffer cover. The base profile is attached to the building, and the buffer cover is slid into place. Since the buffer cover is height-adjustable, it follows all vertical movements of a truck during loading and unloading.
Loading Bridges – Your Solution for Fast Loading and Unloading
Wherever gaps and height differences need to be bridged flexibly, reliably, and safely, you can count on loading bridges from Blumenbecker. Whether you need a stationary loading platform or a clever combination of a loading bridge and a lift table: We always provide the right solution.
Blumenbecker loading bridges comply with all relevant German and European guidelines and standards, including BGR 233, CE, and DIN EN 1398. We offer:
- Extension platforms
- Folding wedge platforms
- Swivel arm platforms
- Lifting tables
- Custom designs ISO loading gates
Door seals: seal tight - stay tight
Blumenbecker offers four types of dock seals: tarpaulin dock seals for high-volume daily operations, cushion dock seals for varying vehicle sizes, inflatable dock seals for the highest sealing requirements in cold storage facilities, and scissor dock seals for open loading docks without a fixed door system. We provide manufacturer-independent advice on which solution is best suited to your loading ramp and your range of vehicles.
Our services in the field of loading technology
Planning and Consulting
Every loading situation is unique: Different vehicle types, ramp heights, throughput volumes, and structural conditions require customized solutions. Our experts analyze your situation on-site and develop a tailored concept.
In doing so, we take into account not only the technical requirements but also economic considerations. Sometimes a simple manual loading dock is sufficient; in other cases, a hydraulic loading dock pays off due to its higher efficiency.
Our planning services:
- On-site assessment and needs analysis
- Technical design and sizing
- Preparation of quotes
- Coordination with other trades (doors, construction, electrical)
- Support with budget planning
Delivery and Installation
We supply loading equipment from leading manufacturers and handle professional installation through our trained service technicians. This means you get everything from a single source—from ordering to a fully operational system.
During installation, we ensure minimal disruption to your operations. Where possible, we coordinate the work so that your goods handling operations can continue uninterrupted. After installation, we train your employees on how to operate the equipment and provide you with the complete documentation.
Included in the scope of delivery:
- Delivery to the point of use
- Installation by qualified specialists
- Electrical connection
- Functional testing and initial commissioning
- Training of your staff
- Handover of documentation and test certificates
After-Sales Service
Our support doesn’t end with the purchase of your loading equipment. Through our industrial service division, we offer comprehensive after-sales service for maintenance, inspection, and repair—including, of course, equipment from other manufacturers.
Our services for your loading equipment:
- Annual inspection in accordance with DGUV R 108-006
- Regular maintenance and inspection
- Repair and spare parts supply
- 24-hour availability in case of malfunction
Frequently asked questions about loading technology
How much does a loading dock cost?
The cost of a loading dock varies significantly depending on the type and features. Basic manual models start at a few hundred euros, while hydraulic loading docks with automatic controls can cost several thousand euros. For a customized quote, we’ll analyze your loading situation and recommend the most cost-effective solution.
What types of door seals are available?
Essentially, we distinguish between four types: Tarpaulin door seals are suitable for daily delivery operations and are particularly robust. Cushion door seals provide a good seal for vehicles of varying heights. Scissor door seals can be extended manually or electrically and are suitable for open ramps. Inflatable door seals provide the best seal and automatically adapt to different vehicle dimensions.
How does Blumenbecker’s XL impact buffer system work?
The patented XL impact buffer system consists of specially developed rubber cores enclosed by two steel channel sections. When a truck docks, it strikes the steel casing. The buffer absorbs a large portion of the impact load (up to 180 kN) and distributes the remaining load across the entire surface into the concrete ramp. Unlike conventional solid rubber buffers, the system is virtually wear-free and comes with a 24-month warranty.
Does loading equipment need to be inspected regularly?
Yes, according to DGUV Rule 108-006, loading bridges and mobile ramps must be inspected by a qualified person before initial use and at least once a year thereafter. Documentation of this inspection must be maintained. In addition to delivery, Blumenbecker also offers a comprehensive inspection service.
What should you consider when choosing a loading dock?
When making your selection, you should consider the following factors: load capacity (depending on your material handling equipment), the height difference between the ramp and the truck’s loading area, the frequency of loading operations, and structural conditions. Hydraulic loading docks are recommended for high-traffic loading areas, while manual solutions may be sufficient for occasional use.
