Our new APQP4Wind standard for wind energy Wind Industry
At the beginning of March 2022, Blumenbecker Poland became an official member of the association of suppliers and sub-suppliers of wind energy solutions APQP4Wind. To join this association we had to meet a number of requirements and procedures.
What is APQP4Wind?
APQP4Wind is a non-profit organization founded by world-leading Wind Turbine Manufacturers and Suppliers.
The background for APQP4Wind is the continuous quality improvement that is needed to keep pace with the ongoing trend towards decreases in the Levelized Cost of Energy within the wind industry.
APQP is a well-known standard in the automotive industry and has been the basis for quality improvement at Manufacturers and Suppliers for decades. In the context of APQP4Wind, the concept of APQP is adapted to the business areas and special conditions differentiating wind from automotive.
From APQP4Wind project to organization
APQP4Wind started as a project initiated by Wind Denmark and associated members due to a common wish to simplify and strengthen the entire quality planning and product release process. The project was funded by the Danish Industry Foundation for a project period from 2014-2018, where after the project phase ended and APQP4Wind became an organization of its own.
APQP4Wind is a member of GWEC
As a company working towards aligning and maturing the wind industry supply chain, APQP4Wind is committed to helping the global wind industry supply chain reach its full potential. That is why APQP4Wind is a member of the Global Wind Energy Council and wants to support the great work that they are doing in the already established and emerging markets.
