Complete overhaul of a 1,900 kW DC motor Efficient repair by Blumenbecker Industrie-Service GmbH

BENTELER Steel/Tube is a leading manufacturer of high-quality steel tubes used in a wide range of industries, including the automotive sector, mechanical and plant engineering, and energy applications. But modern technology also plays a crucial role within the company’s own plants: Recently, a 1,900 kW DC motor at the Schloss Neuhaus plant underwent a comprehensive overhaul.

For years, employees at the BENTELER plant have relied on Blumenbecker for such challenges. During the most recent project, a large DC motor had to be repaired after vibration analyses revealed axial displacement of the armature under load.

Following a precise laser measurement, it was determined that the anchor had shifted several millimeters from its intended position. Through mechanical machining and the strategic use of spacer rings, the Blumenbecker technicians were able to resolve the issue professionally and optimally adjust the bearing arrangement. All maintenance work was also carried out at the same time as the repair.

Thanks to Blumenbecker’s quick and professional execution, the motor is now running flawlessly again and ensuring production quality at the BENTELER plant.
