B.AI – AI-driven Bin Picking robot cell for flexible part retrieval

The Blumenbecker Group is introducing B.AI, a new robotic cell that uses artificial intelligence for fully automated parts retrievalin production and logistics. Developed by the team at Blumenbecker Prag s.r.o., the solution is based on Siemens’ SIMATIC Robot Pick AI technology.

The key difference from traditional automation solutions: B.AI requires neither CAD data nor complex model training. The integrated neural network recognizes objects of any shape and color in real time, calculates their graspable 3D position, and communicates directly with the robot arm via standardized interfaces—including OPC UA.

The system is designed for two main applications: order picking in logistics centers and parts retrieval on production lines.

Thanks to its modular architecture, it can be expanded in stages, for example to include documentation cameras or integrated quality control.

Integration with existing MES and ERP systems is provided as standard. B.AI runs on a Siemens edge device and is compatible with KUKA, FANUC, and ABB robots.
