From a small engineering firm founded in 1995 to an internationally respected partner for robotics, automation, and trade – this is the story of Blumenbecker Prag s.r.o.
Already in 1997, just two years after its founding, the company installed its first robot station at Škoda Auto, where robots were used for welding the hood of the Felicia model.
In 2001, Blumenbecker Slovakia s.r.o. was established in Malacky (35 km north of Bratislava). This allowed the company to expand its reach in the region and strengthen its position in the Central European market.
Another major milestone was achieved in 2003: the largest engineering contract to date was implemented, with the delivery of a complete control system and all drives for the PS3 paper machine at Mondi Štětí.
The introduction of image processing technology in 2006 marked a significant turning point, as it enabled automated quality inspections and innovative vision systems to be added to the portfolio. That same year, the company opened its own manufacturing hall, further increasing production capacities and independence.
In 2012, Blumenbecker Prag set new standards in robotics with its proprietary Bin Picking solution: thanks to this technology, various parts could be picked directly and automatically from unsorted bins and safely processed. For this innovative solution, the company received an award at the International Engineering Fair in Brno, personally presented by the former Minister of Industry Martin Kuba.
Two years later, in 2014, the company surpassed the mark of 100 employees. After this economic success, the years following 2017 proved challenging, marked by adjustments in the organizational structure, a reduction of the workforce, and stabilization of financial development. Thanks to technical expertise, a solid infrastructure, and close customer relationships, the company managed to set the course back to growth.
In 2020, Blumenbecker Prag received the Industry 4.0 Award from the Czech Industrial Association for its innovative eRobot project – a digital representation of a robotic production line.
Today, Blumenbecker Prag is established as a reliable partner in the fields of robotics – especially the integration of KUKA, FANUC, and ABB robots – as well as automation and industrial trade, with more than 100 employees at four locations. In the area of welding technology, the company offers complete solutions for both manual and robot-assisted workstations.
