Greater presence in the north
New branch in Lübeck
Blumenbecker and northern Germany – a long-standing connection. The industrial service has been available in Bremen since 2002. Just a year later, a branch was opened in Hamburg. In 2024, Blumenbecker’s industrial supplies division also moved to Hamburg. And now? Another German Hanseatic city has joined the list:
As of 1 August 2025, Blumenbecker took over the business operations of Drögemüller Handelsgesellschaft mbH in Lübeck, a long-established wholesaler for industrial supplies.
Adaptable yet consistent
In 1909, Wilhelm Drögemüller founded the specialist tool trade as a family business. The continuous development of the product range to provide the best possible service was always at the forefront. Thus, the company specialised not only in quality tools, but also in machine tools, welding equipment and welding technology. In 1951, Jürgen Peter Lampe Drögemüller took over as head of the company.
Then, in 1978, Jörg Drögemüller assumed management and, together with his wife, continued to develop the business. During this period, the range was expanded to include workplace equipment.
In 2003, the Drögemüller family withdrew from the company and handed it over to three employees. In 2009, a new building was constructed, and the company relocated to its current premises at Hutmacherring 9.
New location, new specialist areas, proven expertise
The acquisition of the business activities of Drögemüller Handelsgesellschaft mbH in Lübeck by Blumenbecker Industriebedarf GmbH brings together two successful and well-established companies within the market. ‘The sales area represents an extension for Blumenbecker and is in line with our northern strategy and our national approach. The existing product ranges largely overlap and will now be complemented by a variety of additional specialist fields. Furthermore, the on-site industrial service will be gradually expanded to include the inspection, maintenance and servicing of crane and door systems in the long term,’ explains Managing Director Olaf Lingnau.
Customers can rely on continuity in supply and the usual professional and personalised advice, as their familiar contacts will remain. Blumenbecker is also a PREMIUM member of E/D/E, the Purchasing Office of German Ironmongers. The existing range will therefore be expanded to include the PREMIUM offering.
‘Our customers will especially benefit from the modern systems and digital materials management of the Blumenbecker Group,’ says Torsten Dorsch, former Managing Director of Drögemüller, with confidence.
Industrial-Trade and Industrial-Service go hand in hand at Blumenbecker. Of the 19 locations in this areas, Lübeck is the most recent addition.
