Hand in Hand

Blumenbecker donates EUR 15,000

Blumenbecker donates EUR 15,000 to aid projects in Romania, Kenya and Germany Joining hands to help children

One more time, Blumenbecker has decided not to give presents to its customers; instead, it will donate funding for people in need. Or rather: for children in need. Three aid projects will be supported with € 5,000 each. Projects in which three of our staff are personally involved.

Among them is Günter Fischer, who works in external sales at Blumenbecker Industriebedarf GmbH. He’s been driving one of the semitrailers since 1999, that transport relief supplies to Romania for "Enniger hilft Kindern.” His latest trip was in April this year. The children’s homes and hospitals in Tulcea are not only pleased with the regular transports of food and clothing. Beds and sanitary facilities are also often part of the freight that the helpers set up on site.

Diani Children's Village in Diani Beach, founded in 1994 and about 35 km south of Mombasa, Kenya, will also receive EUR 5,000. Thomas Spiegel from the Control Engineering of Blumenbecker Automatisierungstechnik GmbH has worked on behalf of these children ever since he holidayed there in 2000. Since then, he has collected donations from Blumenbecker staff and spent his holidays energetically contributing to life at the village in a multitude of ways.

The children's hospice Bärenherz in Leipzig will also receive a donation of EUR 5,000. The hospice provides loving care for children while they are sick, until they die. Ralf Herzog, Managing Director of Blumenbecker Technik GmbH, came into contact with the hospice through a dog owners’ association that arranged a ‘cuddle time’ event at which the children could play with the dogs and be happy for a little while.

Customers and business partners responded positively to the idea of substituting donations for Christmas presents last year. As Sir Peter Ustinov said, “Children are the only form of immortality that we can be sure of.” They deserve special care – and not only during the Christmas season.

We believe we have a responsibility to help others, and we’re glad to do it!

Group Managing Director
