The manufacture of measuring tracks poses a particular challenge, as track sections up to 200 meters in length must be aligned with accuracies in the range of tenths of a millimeter. Blumenbecker Technik has now installed its third measuring track in Munich. In addition to high quality, which is confirmed by approvals from the Federal Railway Authority, the price and time required for installation were key criteria for awarding the contract. Meeting the required short deadlines with suppliers working in shifts also caused Blumenbecker's specialist engineers to break out in a sweat. This is because all tracks are continuously occupied at night in order to carry out routine work and, above all, to check axles.
