Dacharbeitsstand für ein Reparaturwerk in Leipzig

Roof working platform for a repair workshop in Leipzig

Railway equipment is as individual as the plant in which it is installed. The technology must be adapted to the specific conditions in each case. This applies in particular to equipment for existing buildings. Blumenbecker has many years of experience in the planning and construction of workshop equipment for domestic and foreign railway companies.

The task

Planning, construction, delivery and installation of roof working platforms and train driver walkways. The contract value was approximately €1.6 million.

The service

In fierce competition with two other companies, Blumenbecker Technik was awarded the contract to build the roof working platforms and train driver walkways. After a planning phase of around four months and a construction period of approximately five months, the work was completed. "The entire project posed significant technical challenges," explains the project engineer. "Thanks to the excellent cooperation between the departments, we were able to solve these tasks in the best possible way. A total of approx. 180 tonnes of steel were processed as lightweight construction and over 160 drives for the system's extensions and safety devices were installed. The complex electrical control system, including the PLC and the safety control system for monitoring the overhead line (10 kV), was designed and built by the Schafstädt control engineering department. At the same time, the Schafstädt crane service department, which had been awarded the hoisting equipment contract, planned and installed a 'curved trolley' and a bridge crane.
