E-procurement at RZB Full service for the electronic procurement of C-parts

Based on the guidelines “Smart Technology” and “Excellent Design,” this medium-sized family business from Bamberg develops, produces, and sells a range of over 10,000 items. Whether indoor or outdoor lighting, emergency and safety lighting—RZB is one of the leading manufacturers in Germany.
In the rapidly changing world of lighting, RZB continues to deliver exemplary lighting solutions and has received over 75 internationally recognized design awards for its developments in recent years.
The task
When RZB introduced new e-procurement software in 2011, it also sought a reliable purchasing service provider that would significantly streamline its electronic and commercial processes. In addition to volume bundling and supplier reduction, the company sought solutions that would significantly shorten the current supply chain. At the same time, material and process costs were to be significantly reduced.
In 2017, RZB parted ways with its previous provider and switched to new e-procurement software. Blumenbecker familiarized itself with the new, unfamiliar tool and remained a system partner for the customer—despite the separation from the software provider.
