Our client:
MBM Techglas GmbH
Since 1989, MBM Techglas GmbH has stood for quality “Made in Germany.” For over 27 years, the company has been supplying the industry with top-quality products in the field of flat glass finishing. In cooperation with various partners, projects such as the lighting for the
Airbus paint shop in Hamburg for the A380 and Berlin Central Station have been realized. Customer service and product quality are of paramount importance here.
The task
Construction of a single-girder bridge crane 5 t x 12 m in sectional girder construction, assembly during ongoing operations, and commissioning.
The service
The crane was designed, built, delivered, assembled, and commissioned by Blumenbecker.
The challenge in terms of steel construction was to take the specific spatial conditions into account and to handle the steel girders with great care. The support spacing and support designs were therefore planned and assembled on an individual basis. A trolley with optimized approach dimensions allowed the lifting height to be maximized and the hall height to be utilized down to 50 mm.
Another challenge was the installation during ongoing operations at the glass factory. Dust and dirt are particularly problematic when working with glass. However, interrupting production was out of the question due to the order situation.
With the new bridge crane, the 3.20 m wide glass plates and glass packages weighing up to 1.8 t can now be placed more quickly for further processing. In addition, MBM Techglas can purchase more cost-effectively, as boxed material can now be used.
Customer quote
“The installation was straightforward, and I am very satisfied with the end product.”
