GSE tracking system For a targeted transfer of information

Tracking system for your
airport ground support equipment

Hundreds of dollies and baggage trailers, several boarding steps and a huge airport terrain. This is the situation at most airports. Aircraft handling must be fast and smooth, because only an aircraft in the air is economical. That is why every minute counts on the ground.

In order not to lose the overview of the airport ground support equipment, we have developed a unique tracking system that not only locates the objects. On request, we can supplement the tracking system with a load sensor that detects metal containers and other objects on the cargo trailers. It is also possible to add a temperature sensor or other similar devices. Compose your individual tracking system.

We have intentionally chosen an open system so that the data can be integrated into the airport's own systems if required.

The advantages of the tracking system

The Blumenbecker tracking system provides maintenance-free motion detection and sensor technology using rechargeable batteries and solar panels. This allows large amounts of information to be sent continuously. Other modules such as RFID, load sensor, temperature sensor, damage alerts and much more can be connected to the open tracking system.

The components of the tracking system

Tracking module

The solar-powered tracking module transmits the data via LoRaWAN or M2M. In future, BLE will also be possible. The data can be sent to existing systems and then integrated.

Load sensor

Unique sensor that detects aluminium in close distance, contactless and electronic. The loading status is continuously transmitted to the airport's monitoring system.

RFID transponders

Unique identification of the object via RFID. Individual data of the object can be read via the transponder, such as the object number or the maintenance history.

Protective plate

The protective plate secures the tracking system against external damage by containers, luggage or bad weather conditions.

Disruption indicator

A disruption message can be sent by pressing a button on the tracking system. This allows defective devices to be quickly detected and sent to service. Furthermore, empty runs of the tractor vehicles can be avoided.

How does the tracking system benefit airport operators and service providers?

The tracking system allows logistical processes at the airport to be run in a much more structured way than before. This is immensely important in times of increasing air traffic. Operators who cannot build new runways or terminals must use the existing infrastructure as efficiently as possible.

Maintenance also benefits from the intelligent system. Operating profiles can be created on the basis of the transmitted data. These determine the individual load and calculate the next maintenance date for each airport ground support equipment. Such targeted maintenance guarantees the permanent safety and functionality of the equipment and saves resources.

Not just for airports

The Blumenbecker tracking system can support industries other than airports, too. Intelligent plastic pallets are a prime example. By tagging reusable pallets, companies can seamlessly track goods from production to the warehouse to the customer. The tracking technology can help optimise empties management as well.
