B.EYE – System for efficient picking in 3D Environment
Next-Generation Bin Picking
B.EYE is the latest BinPicking technology with practical applications in robotic palletizing and depalletizing, machine tending and other operations.
B.EYE represents an advanced scanning system that can be fully integrated with an industrial robot. This combination enables automated picking of randomly stacked parts, which are then passed on for further processing.
Blumenbecker has a state of the art solution, specializing in the development and integration of BinPicking, including the design of special gripping tools.
Why choose our solution
- Turnkey delivery of the scanning system, including full robotic integration
- High degree of flexibility thanks to in-house development
- Customizable workspace dimensions based on the handled product
- Compact solution with low maintenance requirements
- Swing-arm or linear-axis configuration available depending on application needs
- Collision risk eliminationthrough intelligent system design
Standard technical parameters
- Typical workspace size: 1 200 x 800 x 500 mm
- Camera detection accuracy: ±1 mm
for typical workspace size - Standard scanning device cycle time: 3 seconds
- Direct communication between camera and robot
(supports KUKA, ABB, FANUC robots)
How does it work?
In a Bin Picking process, the robot collaborates with an industrial camera to identify randomly positioned parts. The robotic arm then picks individual items from a defined area (the scene) and, based on a preconfigured algorithm, accurately and systematically transfers them for further processing.
Evolution in BinPicking Technology
The B.EYE system delivers significant improvements over previous solutions in terms of speed, affordability, and reliability.
- Low acquisition costs
Instead of the original linear-axis solution with a 3D camera, B.EYE uses a standard industrial camera mounted on a swing arm - Simplified maintenance
A fundamentally streamlined technical design minimizes the need for service interventions - Higher durability
The system is less sensitive to dust, vibrations, and other environmental factors - Space-Saving design
Its compact construction allows installation even in confined spaces - Uninterrupted operation
The swing-arm system enables individual control of each bin, so replacing boxes at one station does not interrupt the entire process
Is the original solution still beneficial?
For setups with four or more picking stations, the original solution continues to be a cost-effective alternative.
However, it's essential to assess the technical benefits offered by the new swing-arm system, which may provide greater efficiency and operational reliability in specific applications.
