Coveted award won Blumenbecker at MACH TOOL - Joint project with KUKA, Siemens and other partners

Visitors to international engineering trade fair MACH TOOL from 6 to 9 June in Poznan, Poland, were surprised by a special joint project: KUKA and Siemens joined forces with other companies to present a novel Industry 4.0 solution. Blumenbecker Engineering Polska was one of the key partners.

Siemens and KUKA have been driving the fourth industrial revolution forward since 2011. To show visitors how much momentum the digitalisation of manufacturing processes has developed, they joined with partners including Blumenbecker to present at Mach Tool a comprehensive flexible manufacturing system supported by a Cloud solution.

A five-axis processing centre, Mazak VARIAXIS-500 was set up, equipped with a CNC SINUMERIK 840D sl and a KUKA KR 20 KR Cybertech R1810 robot. Blumenbecker handled all the automation of the simulated production process, using the latest SIMATIC S7-1500 PLC within the framework of a Siemens TIA portal (Totally Integrated Automation Portal). Other components were a SIMATIC HMI visualisation, integrated safety functions, drives, gripper systems and clamping tools.

The presentation won Blumenbecker Engineering Polska and the other partners the trade fair's MTP gold medal, which is awarded for practical solutions for digitising production processes. This is one of the best-known awards in the Polish market.

“This award gives our customers a good indication of how broad our engineers' expertise is,” says Grzegorz Krasniewski, Sales Director for Blumenbecker Engineering Polska. “Blumenbecker masters the latest digitalisation technologies, thus we're able to realize genuine Industry 4.0 solutions for our customers. They also benefit from our long-standing partnerships with leading manufacturers like Siemens and KUKA.”
