30 Years of Blumenbecker Prag s.r.o. The first international Blumenbecker company – A journey through courage, milestones, and staff
From an engineering office in 1995 to an internationally recognized partner in robotics, automation, and trade – this is the story of Blumenbecker Prag s.r.o. But the journey began even earlier: as far back as 1990, Blumenbecker opened a branch in Prague, which, five years later under the leadership of Jindřich Vaňous and Vladimír Lhotský, became an independent Czech company.
In 1997, the first robotic station was installed at an automotive manufacturer, where robots were used for welding car hoods.
Another major milestone was reached in 2003: the company completed its largest engineering project to date, delivering a complete control system and all drives for a paper machine.
In 2006, the introduction of image processingtechnology marked a turning point, enabling automated quality control and the integration of innovative vision systems into the portfolio. That same year, the company opened its own production hall, further strengthening its manufacturing capabilities and independence.
In 2012, Blumenbecker Prag set new standards in robotics with its proprietary Bin Picking solution: thanks to this technology, various parts could be automatically picked directly from unsorted bins and safely processed. For this innovative solution, the company received an award at the International Engineering Fair in Brno, personally presented by then Minister of Industry Martin Kuba.
In 2020, Blumenbecker Prag was honored with the Industry 4.0 Award by the Czech Industry Association for its innovative eRobot project – a digital twin of a robotic production line.
Today, the company employs more than 100 people across four locations. Eleven of them have been with the company for over 25 years, some since its founding in the 1990s. Thirty more colleagues have been part of the Blumenbecker Group for over ten years. A new generation has also joined, bringing fresh energy and new ideas.
