HOW DOES A REGULATED DRIVE WORK?

  • Traditionally, solutions have based on purely mechanical transmission with the rotation ratio ensured by bevel gears.
  • Machine sets and DC drives represent types of electrical solutions. 
  • Today’s solutions generally involve DC bus systems installed with a range of connected inverters or frequency converters that are used to supply the most practicable squirrel-cage motors. 
  • Connections between the drives are provided by fast communication bus systems, e.g. PROFIBUS.

Solutions for regulated drives

  • The more straightforward and “conventional” types of regulated drives can be found in pumps, fans, machine tool spindles, and so on. These types are generally individual single-motor drives.
  • Multi-motor drives with speed, synchronous or torque coupling between them can be found in paper machines, mills, rewinders, conveyors, etc.

Large AC drives with asynchronous motors

Conventional AC drives with asynchronous motors

  • MICROMASTER or SINAMICS frequency converters
  • Power range: 0.12 kW – 500 kW (1/10/2003)
